The Native Plant Wildscape Demonstration Garden at Phil Hardberger Park is a beautiful example of how native plants can enhance your landscape while supporting wildlife.

Denise Gross, Executive Director of the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy, gave us the history of the property which eventually became the park and she shared information about the conservancy’s role in the park.

Our garden tour was led by Evelyn Penrod & Patsy Kuentz, two of the Master Naturalists who created the native plant garden and continue to care for it. They shared their knowledge on several plants native to the San Antonio area. Great information to have given our current drought situation.

For lunch we went to a new restaurant in our area, Renzo's Trattoria E Pizzeria and celebrated Maggi Kautz’s birthday!

A big thanks to Beth Loudermilk and Mary Young-Davis for making this event a success.
