Shavano Park hosted National Night Out at our city hall to raise awareness about police and fire programs within the community. In addition to the event at city hall, every neighborhood in the community hosted a block party. Attendees at city hall were treated to:
Ice cream
Poster contest for elementary school children
Face painting
Bounce house
Emergency vehicles
A visit from McGruff The Crime Fighting Dog and Sparky The Fire Dog
SPW made its debut at National Night Out by offering Prosecco to the grown-ups at our booth and overseeing the bounce house with the help of our volunteers.
A big thank you to Suzy Bettac and Mary Young for collaborating with the city in coordinating this event.
We turly appreciate the SPW volunteers who participated and helped make this event a success for our community. A good time was had by all!
