Marti Buchholtz briefly spoke about the upcoming Veterans Day. Reminding us to thank our veterans and active duty personnel.

We enjoyed a delicious box lunch catered by Shavano Park resident owned, Apple Spice Catering, while Chief Dover and his team provided us with the basics of CPR and instruction on how to identify a potential stroke. Steve Becker and Ryan Keller along with the Chief told us the signs to look for when a person is experiencing a stroke. If someone around you displays stroke symptoms, time is of the essence. Call 9-1-1 immediately. The sooner they receive help, the higher the chance of survival. The same goes for those experiencing heart attack symptoms. Don't delay; save yourself or someone you love by calling 9-1-1 at the first signs of symptoms. Shortness of breath, enigma, confusion are all signs of potential heart issues. It may be a subtle change in your loved one but trust your instincts, if something seems off call for help immediately.

The Shavano Park Women extend a sincere and heartfelt “Thank You” to Chief Dover and his team for taking time out of their busy schedule to present these important topics to us. We appreciate your dedication to our city and are truly blessed to live in Shavano Park.
