As our drought continues, water is becoming an ever more important resource. Heather Ginsburg from SAWS gave an excellent presentation on their efforts to diversify our water supply. SAWS has expanded their water portfolio to ensure a sustainable, reliable supply for our growing community. The Edwards Aquifer is just 1 of 8 different water sources supplying our area. We heard about their Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Program. A leader in the nation for this size and type of endeavor.

SAWS customers also receive a portion of their water supply from a desalination facility housed at the SAWS H2Oaks Center located in south Bexar County. These diverse proactive efforts have made SAWS a state and national leader in water resource management.

A special thanks to Heather for educating us on SAWS efforts to deliver safe, reliable water to our homes and to Donna Beladi for arranging this wonderful event!
