January is the time to ring in the new year and celebrate. Shavano Park Women started the new year by celebrating everyone who works on behalf of the City of Shavano Park. Our members hosted a pot luck luncheon for all city employees and city council. We are so thankful for our city staff, firemen, EMT, police, water department and all the countless resident volunteers who make Shavano the city that we love. We celebrated you with this luncheon but we appreciate your hard work and dedication every day.
SPW President, Lori Fanning welcomed everyone and then our City Manager, Bill Hill, offered a prayer of thanks for the bountiful food, our employees and those who had prepared it.
We had a fabulous smorgasbord of homemade dishes and desserts for all to enjoy. There was a lot of conversation, getting to know new employees and catching up with our favorite long time employees. SPW and the rest of the city truly appreciate what each of you do for our community! You have our most sincere gratitude.
A special thanks to our Vice President, Helenan Polanski, and Beth Loudermilk for setting up this event and to our members for bringing their special dishes to share.
