Shavano Park Women in 2023

What an eventful year 2023 was for Shavano Park Women!

We ended 2023 with 75 members and we hope that number will continue to increase. Our poinsettia sale was a success again this year. The proceeds from this sale will help SPW serve our community in 2024.

We participated in our city’s events to help make them a success for the residents and employees of Shavano Park. These included:

But it wasn’t all work and no play. We also enjoyed several excursions and events around the area. Some were educational and some were just for the fun of it!

As we endured the high temperatures and continued drought, our August and October events helped educate us on water conservation and native plants. In October, two Master Naturalists led us in a tour of Hardberger Park’s Native Plant Wildscape Demonstration GardenSAWS stopped by city hall and gave us a presentation on their efforts to diversify the water supply for their customers.

We expanded our palates and our appreciation for art with a cooking class at Central Market and a trip to the San Antonio Museum of Art. The annual Quad Club Fashion Show was a wonderful event with a record audience at the Quarry Golf Club. September’s Social Hour event gave us the opportunity to catch up with each other and meet the 2024 SPW Board nominees.

Turnout for our annual Holiday Party was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed visiting with each other while noshing on delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts. What an awesome way to end 2023 – good food, good friends, and good fun!

Look out 2024! SPW is going to make the most out of you.
