About the event
A bit of background on the San Antonio Chili Queens
The Chili Queens were a remarkable group of women who transformed San Antonio's culinary scene from the late 1800's to early 1900's. These enterprising ladies set up vibrant open-air food stalls in downtown plazas where they served mouthwatering Mexican dishes like chili, enchiladas, tamales, and menudo.
Their stalls were not just places to grab a bite; they became social hubs where people from all walks of life gathered to enjoy good food and engage in lively conversations. The Chili Queens fostered a sense of camaraderie that enriched the cultural fabric of San Antonio.
